Warren DeMartini and Stephen Pearcy - Ratt Live at the Sweden Rock Festival 2008

This concert is something I’ve been expecting for years!
Ratt was of the bands for which I decided to go the Sweden Rock Fest in 2008.
Along with Cinderella, Slaughter, Mötley Crüe and Poison, they’re one of the hard rock legends I was hoping to see some day.
Well that day finally came and I had a blast.

Warren DeMartini, Robbie Crane and John Corabi - Ratt Live at the Sweden Rock Festival 2008 I can’t understand why Ratt don’t tour more often in Europe. Their concert at the Sweden Rock was such a success… People from all ages gathered in front of the Rock stage to see them.

They delivered exactly what we were waiting for: a pure Rock n’Roll show full of energy, headbanging and good humour.

Bass player Robbie Crane and drummer Bobbie Blotzer kept the groove on. They form an excellent rhythm section.

Stephen Pearcy is such a great frontman! With a leather hat, sun glasses and skeleton gloves, he manages to keep the crowd singing for their whole show.

It’s hard to believe that for some 6 years he was replaced by Jizzy Pearl from Love/Hate. I can’t imagine anyone else singing with Ratt, even less after this tremendous concert.

I was pleased to see John Corabi on stage. I knew him mostly for his work with Mötley Crüe but I thought that he fitted perfectly with Ratt. Altough he’s not playing with them anymore and Quiet Riot’s Carlos Cavazo has since then joined the band.

Last but not least, Warren DeMartini impressed us with his solos and licks.
What a great guitar player, he’s a got a very distinctive feeling.

The setlist was like a gift. 21 songs: Enough to please everyone!

They played the whole Ratt E.P., their legendary 1983 first recording. It was played at the beginning of the show, although songs were not in order.

Stephen Pearcy said “Who’d have thought 25 years later we’d still be doing this” before continuing with I’m Insane.

Warren DeMartini - Ratt Live at the Sweden Rock Festival 2008 All time hits like You’re In Love or Round And Round were of course not skipped. For this song the audience became absolutely crazy, like if we couldn’t believe that this was happening.

Ratt was one of my favourite shows of the festival.
They really should come back more often to Europe.
I hope the response of the audience will give them some ideas for the next tour…
