Mark Tornillo from Accept live in Paris

The first concert of 2011 was Helloween. The second was also from a German band who marked the history of Heavy Metal: the mighty ACCEPT!

Accept decided to come back in 2009, with a new addition to their line-up: the great singer Mark Tornillo, ex T.T. Quick.

Wolf Hoffmann on guitars with Accept

Accept recorded an amazing album in 2010, Blood Of The Nations. Certainly, the best records of the previous year.

They also did a summer tour in 2010, which was scheduled to play in Paris... but sadly it was cancelled on the same day!

During the 2005 Accept Reunion, I've been lucky enough to see them twice, but there was no show scheduled in France.

This means that tonight was Accept's first concert in France since the Predator Tour in 1996!

Peter Baltes on bass - Accept live in Paris France

The Elysée Montmartre is a venue with a curfew, so instead of playing a shorter set like many bands do, Accept decided to play earlier than usual.

Well, Accept are back and they proved that we'll have to count again with them from now. They came to give a Heavy Metal lesson with their Teutonic riffs of Terror!

Herman Frank on guitars - Accept live in concert, Blood Of The Nations Tour

The audience was totally into the show, which wasn't really difficult as we really had perfect Metal Cocktail tonight: a Great band, with great songs, very good lights, a very good sound (altough a bit loud) and an incredible energy.

Accept setlist included a lot of classics that the audience was hungry to hear! Hey, they hadn't played in France for almost 15 years so we all had high expectations!

But with such a high quality new record like Blood Of The Nations, it was normal to give us no less than 5 songs from it!

Quite curious, the song Blood Of The Nations wasn't played in Paris, but was played at some other concerts elsewhere. That's probably because the reunion tour couldn't stop here so they prefered to play another classic.

Stefan Schwarzmann on drums with Accept live in Paris

The whole concert was of great quality but some moments were just outstanding.

During Bulletproof there was a duel between Wolf Hoffmann on guitars and Peter Baltes on bass. Each one played a melody or a riff and the other responding faster and faster.
That was a rare and delightful moment.

By the way, Peter Baltes did again a long solo during Princess Of The Night. The amazing thing is that the audience was singing the guitar melody while only Peter and Stefan Schwarzmann were on stage.

Mark Tornillo with Accept live in Paris

If you're still asking yourself how is Accept without Udo Dirkschneider, let me tell you that Mark Tornillo will soon make you forget about him! He's a professional singer who's been around for many years, and he finally has a band with the success he deserves.

Seriously, Mark is a very very talented guy, he does great on stage, and I think Accept were totally right to hire him!

Wolf Hoffmann on guitars with Accept

All musicians played great and sounded very professional, as if they had been together for many years... but they still have this touch of spontaneity you find in younger bands.

The first part of the show ended with some very powerful versions of No Shelter followed by Burning, received with a good dose of crazyness by the audience.

Stefan Schwarzmann in Paris on drums with Accept

For a short time the band members went backstage, and left us hearing a sample of the German song Ein Heller und ein Batzen, better known as Heidi Heido Heida... Then the band came out again to hit us with Fast As A Shark!
A great new song came next, Pandemic, finally followed by the magical Balls To The Wall!

The audience was crazy, headbanging, moshing and crowdsurfing.
As the band said goodbye, a French flag reading Wolf For President was thrown on stage.

The boys left and thanked the audience as the song Bound to Fail was played as an outro.

We had a great and unforgettable evening! Accept is an amazing live band.
After this incredible show, I can just hope that there will be more Accept albums and concerts to come!
